My current attempt at making music is to learn how to play piano. I have a Nord Electro 3 which makes all kinds of awesome electric piano sounds. I can't sing and play at the same time yet, but I want, someday, to play shows.
I haven't really played any shows as a solo guy, yet.
I've done a lot of karaoke and had three "concerts" at my job, but those don't count when you work at a high school. They were all cover songs, anyways.
