The Demon Rally Team finishes well at DooWop Rally 2007

(Aberdeen, Wa.)-This years doowop rally proved that the Demon Rally Team is a force to be reckoned with in the Pacific Northwest rally scene.

On day one of the rally, the team had a near flawless start, setting a top five stage time and finishing 5th overall out of a field of 47 cars, ahead of 19 all wheel drive cars and the fastest two wheel drive car. Our two out of three stage wins helped to put us on top in group two for day one. It was an impressive start to a challenging event.

At the start of the second day it was more success for the Demon Rally Team. The day began with two stages on pavement followed by a gravel stage without a chance to change tires until after the third stage, meaning the pavement stages were run on gravel tires. We were first in group two as well as fourth and third consecutively overall on the first two stages.

On the fourth stage we lost the rear brakes on the car about 1 mile into the nine mile stage, then 4.5 miles into the stage we lost the right front tire. We ended up losing one and a half minutes on the stage and the group two lead. Gus and Rob amazingly got us back out on stage, but we were never able to make up the time lost on the stage.

The Demon Rally Team ended up with the following accolades for the weekend: 1st in Novice overall, 1st in group 2 for Doowop I, 5th overall for Dooowop I, 2nd in group 2 overall, top three stage time overall on Blue Slough, top five stage time overall on Tahola, 6 group 2 stage wins, and The star of Service award for excellence in service.
