Cute art style, whimsical kids, and also bikes!

Played this one co-op with my partner and we liked it well enough. The story is charming and cute and the characters are well developed. It is a bit like an old-school cartoon with the unlimited imagination of the main characters leading you on adventures around the island where less imaginative adventurers would find none. You begin to question what is real and what is just in the minds of the children you are maneuvering around the screen. It is a decent selection for game time and definitely a good couch co-op, particularly for the generation of free-range kids that will recall the freedom of two-wheeled transportation and perhaps overly-permissive parenting of their youth.

The game is not without a couple downsides, though. Gameplay is awkward at times with the control of the characters on the bikes being a bit janky, to be honest. It's not quite as bad as Paperboy on the NES but it can get you flustered, particularly if you're a young or inexperienced game player. The weapons, while fun for a while, are moderately difficult to perfect and switching is too arduous to bother with most of the time. Add in that you can sometimes disappear behind foreground decor and that, from time to time, where to go next is a mystery, and you can get pretty annoyed with your couch co-op partner for no reason. This game needs a mini-map pretty badly as well as a couple other basic changes to bump it up a bit in my ratings.

However, it is a good little adventure game and if you've got a person to play it with in real life, it will keep you entertained.
